📌 Season Basics

When will we hear from our coach?

Families will be contacted by their coach by March 31. Communication will include practice schedules, team details, and any updates specific to your division.

When do practices begin?

Practices begin as soon as fields are playable, usually early April. Your coach will confirm the exact start date, field, and practice time.

Where are practices and games held?

All practices and games take place at the Vic Hughes Complex:
549 Barkeyville Rd, Grove City, PA 16127.


🧹 Field Clean‑Up Day

What is Field Clean‑Up Day?

This is a league‑wide volunteer event to prepare the complex for the season.
Date for 2026 is Saturday, April 4 at 9:00 a.m.

Families are welcome to come as they can. Common tasks include leaf removal, trash pickup, and general field prep.
Helpful tools: rakes, leaf blowers, wheelbarrows.


📸 Photos, Opening Day & Key Dates

When is Picture Week?

Team photos will take place the week of April 20 (exact day and times TBD).

When is Opening Day?

Opening Day is April 25. Time will be announced once final details are set.

When do regular season games begin?

Games begin April 27.

When are All‑Star assessments?

Assessments for 10U and 12U will occur between May 23–30 (specific dates and times TBD).

When is the Pirates Game outing?

June 10 at PNC Park.
RSVPs are due April 25. Players may participate in a warning track parade before the game. Learn more at this link.


🧢 Equipment & Uniforms

What does my player need for the season?

Required:

  • Glove
  • Helmet
  • Baseball pants

Provided by the league:

  • Team jersey t‑shirt
  • Team hat

Optional:

  • Cleats
  • Bat (must have the USA Baseball stamp — USSSA bats are not allowed)
    • Bats are available to borrow if needed.

What should families bring to the fields?

  • Lawn chairs (bleachers are limited)
  • Small tents or umbrellas for shade
  • Snacks or dinner money — our concession stand offers a variety of items and supports the league!
  • Water for players

Are restrooms available?

Restrooms are located by the concession stand and open during games only.
Players should plan ahead for practices.


📱 Communication

How will we receive updates or cancellations?

Coaches typically communicate through text or an app (specific tool varies by team).
League‑wide updates are posted on Facebook: www.facebook.com/gcbaseball20 or sent via email connected to the player's registration.

If weather changes quickly, Facebook may be updated first. Coaches will share information as soon as they receive it.


🏟️ Opening Day Details

What can we expect on Opening Day (Saturday, April 25)?

  • The day typically begins mid-morning
  • Teams line up together before the ceremony
  • Players wear full uniforms (jersey, black/gray/white pants, and league baseball hat)
  • Each team is recognized on the field, names are called as they follow their coach on the field
  • A family picnic follows, open to players, siblings, and guardians
  • Some divisions may have games scheduled afterward. This information will come from your coach.

Your coach will provide meeting times and locations once updated Opening Day plans are confirmed.


🤝 How can families get involved with the league?

Little League thrives on volunteers! Families can help by:

  • Selling raffle tickets before Opening Day to support our league and your player
  • Assisting during Field Clean‑Up Day
  • Helping with team needs (dugout support, snacks, communication)
  • Volunteering at the concession stand
  • Supporting the league through concession purchases
  • Simply cheering on your player and other players
