BRANDYWINE LITTLE LEAGUE
FIELD CARE GUIDELINES – AFTER PRACTICES & GAMES
MJ Field, Dyer 1, Dyer 2, Moore Field, BB2
To keep our fields in top condition for all players, please complete the following after every use:
- Smooth and level the pitching mound and home plate area
- Pitching mound care: Use the lightest rake possible — no aggressive back-and-forth raking. Always pull or push dirt from the grass edge back toward the rubber to maintain the mound shape
-
- Hand drag the batter’s box/home plate area
-
- Rake the final 2 feet of dirt along the grass edge back toward the infield to prevent lips from forming
-
- If the infield is too wet to support a coach or player’s weight, do not use the field — allow it time to dry properly
-
- Tractor use is limited to trained and approved volunteers only when opening fields or performing post-use maintenance

A Quick Reminder
Our fields don’t take care of themselves — they reflect the effort we all put in. Brandywine Little League has invested significant time and resources into creating safe, high-quality playing surfaces. Your help makes a big difference in keeping them that way for every team.
