Cooperstown's strong football tradition dates back more than 50 years. A little over 20 years ago we introduced a youth football program here in Cooperstown for children ages 7 through 12 years of age. More recently, with the introduction of Flag football, we expanded the program to include ages 5 and up. Since our inception, Cooperstown Youth Football has played a meaningful role in the athletic, social and personal development of 1500+ children throughout our community.We continue to make it our priority to outfit our players with the best possible gear available. New requirements are being established throughout the USA to ensure the safety of our young athletes. And although this has brought about new regulation such as 10 year limits on the usable life of a helmet, it has also brought additional safety and beneficial new technology to support this rewarding sport by keeping our players increasingly safer season after season.
League Moto/Goals: We do not know of a better cause than supporting our youth in activities that will prepare them for young adulthood. Sports, athletics, and related recreational activities provided by the community help to build self-confidence, team work, community and responsibility that will heighten a child’s sense of personal well being, build self reliance, provide a more hopeful future, and increase opportunities for a more holistic and successful education. Our organization does just that for the child; it’s what Cooperstown Youth Football is all about!
