Capital Trailblazers is a Student Athletic Football and Cheer leading Program. This community outlet is in collaboration with Capital Preparatory School, located at 1304 Main Street Hartford, CT. The program was established since 2014. This community school model manifested from two staple coaches "Garrick Spoke", a Dean of a School Capital Prep "Fulton", and Principal "DR. Steve Perry". This vision has been past to Dean A. Jones, who oversees, and is President of the Organization. Since its establishment, this program has served over 600 youth and families. This organization has a strong parent component. Their volunteerism keeps the organization running; without parents, coaches, and community support there would be no program. Thanks to this program there is a home work club component which helps the kids remain in good standing with their academics. Participants complete their homework at the school before practice and are also provided a snack. The Capital Prep program adds a life skill component for participants, where they learn how to socialize with their peers. 

Football Program Goals: 

•  Our primary goal is to build character, self-confidence, self-motivation, dedication, discipline, and teamwork.
• Establish a process of identifying, selecting and training volunteer coaches, assistants and others that are committed to achieving Capital City Trailblazers mission and goals, while serving as role models in their conduct.
• Make sure that each and every player receives the opportunity to maximize their individual potential.
• Create effective processes which provide open communications with players, parents and volunteers.
• Ensure all participants learn football fundamentals, as well as team play, good sportsmanship and fair play, in a manner that allows them to enjoy the game of football.
• Provide equipment, facilities and instruction that are consistent with safe play.
• Help players develop a love and passion for the game.
