CHALLENGER

The Little League Challenger Division was established in 1989 as a separate division of Little League to enable boys and girls with physical and mental challenges to enjoy the game of baseball along with millions of other children who participate in this sport worldwide.  Registration is open to boys and girls ages 4-12.  Players ages 4-7 will play in the "Minors" group and players 8-12 will play in the "Majors" group.  Both groups will use Tee Ball/Coach Pitch rules with no score or outs recorded.  Players will learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding in a safe and fun environment.  Rules of the game may be varied to accomodate the needs of the players.

TEE BA
LL

Tee Ball Baseball is for boys and girls 4-6 years old who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. There are no evaluations or drafts in Tee Ball.

Teams are formed by the Division VP and requests for teammates are considered for convenience and comfort of the parents and players.

In Tee Ball, players hit a ball off a batting tee. Rules of the game may be varied to accommodate the need for teaching. No score is kept and all kids play in the field and bat the lineup regardless of outs. Games typically last 1 hour. Flexi balls are used for play and coaches are allowed on the field with the players for safety and instruction.

The primary goals of Tee Ball are to introduce children to the fundamentals of baseball and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork and fair play. You can expect 1 game per week and 1 practice.

Local rules allow for an introduction of beginning competitive baseball during the second half of the season where score is kept and standings determine seeding for a post-season tournament. Baseball fundamentals are stressed including hitting and making outs on the bases.
