Fall Program Details

Welcome to Brighton Cal Ripken for the Inaugural Fall 2024 season!

Brighton Cal Ripken Baseball provides boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 15 an opportunity to play in an organized baseball program. Our divisions are safe, fun, and instructional. No experience necessary! If your child has never played before or if your child is a "seasoned vet", Brighton Cal Ripken Baseball has a lot to offer for your child.

For this season, we will be offering six divisions including:

  • Rookies (Ages 7-8) - Machine Pitch - $120.00
  • Minors (Ages 9-10) - $130.00
  • Majors (Ages 11-12) - $150.00
  • Babe Ruth (Ages 13-15) - $180.00

*Please note, due to reduced field space, we will NOT be able to offer a coach pitch season in the fall. We look forward to seeing those players back next Spring!

The player's age on May 1, 2024 determines his or her age for the season. Unlike most fall leagues, the focus of this league is a "last hurrah" in their spring age group instead of a jump start on the next. We do not have access to all the fields we have in the Spring Season and have much less opportunity to practice. We WILL give the option for players moving up in the spring to play up an age group, but they should be advanced players that can make that jump with little additional practice. Otherwise, we encourage them to stay in their spring age group until next spring. The focus is to have fun and play games while sharpening the skills you learned in the Spring!

It is expected that each division will have a 12 game season. Games for the 2024 Spring season will begin the week of August 12th. Check our Calendar often for the most updated information.

*The number of games played is dependent on weather, and a variety of other concerns (COVID, etc), and could vary depending on these circumstances. We will make all efforts to reschedule and complete a full season within the dates we have available to schedule games. Listing of games on days of the week for each division below is also subject to change based on final registration numbers and teams in each division.

ROOKIES (machine pitch ages 7-8):
The purpose of this division is instructional and the goal is to teach kids to love the game. Games will likely be played at Flat Iron Mesa Park in Sandy. Game nights will be mostly Tues/Thurs. Late season games and tournaments may require Saturday dates as well, though the plan is not to schedule initially on weekends. Depending on the weather leading to game postponements, games may need to move to other days of the week to accommodate makeup games. If you have a coach that you are hoping to play with, please indicate that in your registration information. Otherwise, players will be added to teams based on school and location information to be with as many in the same area as possible.

MINORS (ages 9-10) and MAJORS (ages 11-12):
These are kid-pitch divisions, however unlike spring, there will NOT be an assessment. Games will likely be played at Bywater Park (Cottonwood Heights) or Flat Iron Mesa Park (Sandy) for MINORS, and Bywater Park (Cottonwood Heights) or Alta Canyon Park (Sandy). Games will be Mon/Wed. Late season games and tournaments may require Saturday dates as well, though the plan is not to schedule initially on weekends. Depending on the weather leading to game postponements, games may need to move to other days of the week to accommodate makeup games. In lieu of the draft, parents who volunteer as HEAD COACHES in the registration will have the opportunity to submit roster choices from the registered players UP TO 7 players on the roster. The remaining players will be made up of players from the same area, schools and spring teammates as much as possible. ONLY head coaches can make roster suggestions. Cal Ripken board retains the right to review rosters. The most important goal is fun and competitive games. If league parity appears to be in jeopardy, some rosters may not be approved.

BABE RUTH STANDARD (ages 13-15):
Babe Ruth is a competitive division, however unlike spring, there will NOT be an assessment. Games will likely be played at Bywater Park (Cottonwood Heights). Games can vary from Mon/Wed and Tues/Thurs week to week.

*16 year old from Spring are encouraged to make the transition to a 16-18 league. These are offered through Murray and Salt Lake Babe Ruth programs. Feel free to contact us for more information about our neighbor's programs.
