This year, Delaware Sharks will be fielding a team for the Disney Showcase Tournament, held in Kissimmee Florida from February 1st-3rd. This is an OUTDOOR 11 v 11 event. It is a USA Field Hockey sanctioned event. We will be holding a tryout on 8/19/18 at Kirkwood Soccer Club on the turf field from 8:30 am to 10:30 am. This event is separate from the indoor season and the indoor season tryout; we wanted to get this opportunity out as early as possible. All players must be birth year 2005 or younger.
The cost for this tournament is $400 per player. This does not include travel expenses, hotels, or meals. Various pricing for hotels and dining will be available soon. Of course, we are also sure that the girls will want to go to parks; there are only 2 games per day so there is a lot of time for relaxation.
The teams will be coached by Drew and Loveita Moffett. Their current plan is to head down Thursday 1/31/18 and practice with anyone available before the tournament runs Friday through Sunday. This tournament would be in the midst of the indoor season.
We will be selecting only 14-15 players to attend to maximize playing time.
We understand that the lack of travel fees makes it difficult to know if you can attend. There is no fee to try out. Please register online if you are interested, and we will forward any additional information as it becomes available. You can always decline your spot if the costs come in higher than expected.
