Spring Opportunities for Play
Competitive: We have introduced new opportunities for Spring Play. We are offering "A La Carte" tournaments to current Sharks or in some cases other members of US Field Hockey. All participants must be members of USFHA to play for insurance purposes. Please click here if you need to obtain or renew your membership. Membership Site
2019 EVENTS ARE NOW POSTED FOR A LA CARTE. Once available, we will notify our club members of availability and you can visit the Registration Info Tab to register for A La Carte tournaments.
Showcase events: We will be sending Sharks teams to several college showcase tournaments including Shooting Star (DE) and Surf and Sand (NJ). These roster spots will be highly competitive and registration is by invitation only. 2019 Shooting Star U16 Roster has been identified. Surf and Sand is still being determined.
Youth Instructional:
Coaches Laura Lee and Jen Zuck are running a partner program at Kirkwood Soccer club. 2019 dates are March 31, April 7, 14, 28, May 5, 19 (skipping Mother's Day and Easter Sunday). Pixie Sticks is a recreational skills clinic for our youngest players, grades 1 - 4. It includes fun skills drills and small sided games. Equipment needed - mouthguard, shin guards, and stick. We do have some loaner sticks available.
Achievers League
KSC Field Hockey Achievers program focuses on developing superior basic skills in preparation for the high school game of field hockey. Our emphasis on multiple touches on the ball effectively builds solid stick skills, decision making, and speed of play. The program runs on our beautiful Bermuda grass fields for first through eighth graders, and focuses on learning the game of field hockey in a fun, noncompetitive atmosphere. Our emphasis on multiple ball touches effectively builds solid stick skills, decision-making, and speed of play.
- Achievers League is for 4th - 8th graders, that includes two 25-minute 7 v 7 "pickup" games per week plus an opportunity for skill development drills.
- There are no practices, but coaches are available on games to offer technical instruction to players.
