Our ASA advisory panel is a group of individuals who devote their expertise to the mission of this organization. Without their vision, direction, and guidance this organization would not exist. These advisors set aside time from their full time careers and families to mentor the Academy for Student Athletes staff. Our panel includes educators, parents, business owners, and leaders in today's workforce. We are inspired by their devotion to your student's success.

“Promoting essential youth opportunities that lead to a quality life today and tomorrow.” Devin’s greatest passion is the thrill of a child when they experience success. “To see a child’s smiling face after they realize “I did it,” never gets old!” After graduating Erskine College with a BS in Sports Management and Biology minor, Devin continued to coach with Erskine’s soccer camps while working as a personal trainer in Greenwood, SC. Soon after, family life became an integral part of his mission all the while pursuing project managing and then the development of his own business in South Carolina. Devin’s time and interest devoted to the success of his own children is insurmountable. Devin has successfully coached multiple soccer teams including those of his daughters and various SC schools. Devin holds multiple Coaching Licenses.

Coerver Coaching
Chris Castell is a former youth player for Portsmouth FC, Portsmouth Schools Champion of the County, and subsequent British Royal Navy football captain (gaining a Foundation Degree in Aerospace Engineering through the Navy). Chris Castell moved to the USA in 2004 as a coach with United Soccer Academy in New Jersey. He was recruited as a player once more for the University of Montevallo from 2006-2009. In 2007 the University won the Regional Tournament and reached the final 4 of the National Championship, losing in double overtime, where Chris Castell gained the current University record for the most number of starts in a season. While at the University, Chris became the Director of Coaching for South Shelby Futbol Club. Chris was the key participant in merging this organization into Birmingham United Soccer Association. During this time, Chris was recruited by Coerver Coaching as a staff member. After graduation from the university with a Bachelors of Science Degree in History, he became the South Regional Director of Coerver Coaching South East. Chris grew Coerver Coaching in Mississippi and Arkansas prior to his move to the Carolinas.
Over the last several years Chris Castell has become the Coerver Licensee for Coerver Carolinas and has grown Coerver exponentially, with innovative programs such as the "Performance Academy” (the first of its kind in the Carolina, hosted at more than 16 locations),the Coerver 5v5 Cup Tournament Series, the Center of Excellence, the First Soccer Skills, GK specific and Camp programs. This is in addition to the wonderful clubs Coerver Carolinas are able to support during the seasons. Chris Castell currently resides in Columbia, South Carolina with his wife Kim and his 5 wonderful children. He is currently a SC ODP coach and NSCAA instructor and holds the Coerver Coaching Staff License, Coerver Coaching Youth Diploma, NSCAA Premier Diploma and NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma. Chris is a published author of the book "Mighty Mites- Youth session plans and methodology for u4-u8.” |
