2023 Fall PYFCO Playoffs (Round One)

Youth football returned to Smithfield this past weekend with Smithfield Packers Youth Sports hosting round one of the 2023 PYFCO Playoff season. Seven contests were held, and five Smithfield teams participated in four of them. Starting the morning the two 06U Smithfield squads faced off with the Blue team besting the Gold team. Immediately following the #6 10U Packers upset the #3 VA Eagles 13-6 in overtime in a rematch of their Week 07 meeting (where the Packers fell in 2OT play by a PAT).

The afternoon contests saw the 8U #6 Tri-Citi Hurricanes defeat the #3 VA Eagles, the 10U #4 Tri-Citi Hurricanes (Green) defeat the #5 East End Vikings, and the 12U #4 Williamsburg Hornets defeat the #5 VA Eagles. In late play the 12U #3 Packers defeated the #6 Tri-Citi Hurricanes 19-0, and the 14U #3 Packers defeated the #2 Community Broncos 7-6.

Next week in the second round of the 2023 PYFCO Playoffs, the 06U #3 Packers will face the #2 Tri-Citi Hurricanes (Green), the 10U #6 Packers will face the #1 Back River Bulls, and the 12U #3 Packers will face the #2 Back River Bulls. The 14U #3 Packers have secured their spot in the PYFCO Super Bowl (to be held on November 18th, 2023 - time and location TBA).
