2018 Academic Teams Announced

Smithfield Pop Warner announced their 2018 academic teams at their end of the year banquet held this past Friday night at Smithfield High School. The Academic First Team (GPA of 96 or higher) was comprised of Allex Rawlings, Zachery Robinson, Lillyanna Santomauro, Wyatt Oliver, and Kaylee Gambill. These five student athletes are eligible to be named to the Pop Warner Academic All-American teams later this year. After the applications nationwide have been processed, Pop Warner determines National First Team All-Americans (35 football, 35 cheer per grade), National Second Team All-Americans and National Honorable Mention Scholars.

Members of the Academic Second Team were Weston Lowe, Johnathan Heath, Joelle Smith, Kaytlin Kelley, Everly Eggleston, Bradley McGrath, Brian Williams, Ammon Rawlings, Tristain Mortion, Kyle Buggs, Truth Robinson, and Za'hara Seaborne.

The academic honorable mentions were Connor Keating, Jacob Oliveto-Slattery, Avery Radett, Evan Sealey, Jackson Stanley, Landon Ruffin, Jaycob Dentel, Brody Smith, Vincent Smith, Malachi Goodwin, Patrick Blackburn, Kamri Mavin, Kaidon Jeffery, Dikoi Horton, Naomi Mott, and Peyton Rayner.

These 33 athletes, from the 133-athlete program, maintained a 90% or better in their academic pursuits.
