NEGYFC Return to Play Phasing, Protocol and Responsibilities
NEGYFC continues to move forward with planning for the 2020 tackle football and cheerleading season as we monitor how COVID-19 continues to affect community sports. Leaders from across the league continue to meet to discuss guidelines to help us all return to the game in a safe, thoughtful and responsible manner. Our intention is to play a complete regular season, with modifications to the regular and pre-season events and schedule dates.
NEGYFC is approaching our return-to-play activities through three phases. We are currently in Phase One which involves completing the necessary paperwork to return our participants to play. This phase includes several tasks, including field reservations, return to play protocols and best practices, and registration. We will move to Phase Two later this month.
NEGYFC will continue to follow guidelines set by the CDC, local and state government, USA Football, and GHSA. We will continue to be in close contact with local officials, members of the CCSD, and ACCLS to help guide the decisions that will be made as we return-to-play.
During Phase One, we will continue to hold off from all in-person group activities until we receive additional updates from our partners on how and when their facilities may be used. Right now, youth activities (including drills) are on hold. We are expecting to get the all clear in July to be able to use these facilities for group activities, with precautions and limitations in place.
NEGYFC will continue to share information as decisions are made. With all decisions, our primary focus continues to be the safety and health of our community. We encourage you to please continue to follow social distancing recommendations and take care of each other.
