2020 Fall Football Decision

It is with great sadness that we announce that the Northeast Georgia Youth Football Conference has decided to cancel the football season due to the rising coronavirus cases in our area and the reported outbreaks still occurring. In lieu of the cancelled season, as an organization, our athletes are our top priority; therefore, we have designed a plan that focuses on the academic and social wellness of our players. This plan will be shared in the upcoming days through your child’s football organization. It will outline the avenues that we will take to maintain the cohesiveness of our team structure as we continue to support and advocate on behalf of our student athletes virtually.

We would like to thank you for your ongoing support, understanding, and patience as we continue to make decisions that are in the best interest of our athletes, their families, and our coaching staff. As an organization, this was not an easy decision; however, we believe that this decision was necessary to protect the well-being and safety of our student athletes and league personnel.

It has often been stated that it takes a village to raise a child; as a league, it is through this village concept that we aim to be virtually present for football athletes amid this current pandemic. We understand that football is an outlet for many of our youth; therefore, we promise to continue to encourage, nurture, and uplift our athletes as we recognize that football is only part of their identity.

Thank you and we look forward to our continuing partnership to build a strong foundation for all of the athletes that come through Northeast Georgia Youth Football Conference.
