Parent, Player and Coach Communication Both parenting and coaching are challenging endeavors and by establishing an understanding of each we can provide greater benefit to the young men involved in Cardinal Football.
Communication Parents Should Expect from the Coach: - Philosophy and goals of the YFL Football Program
- Staff expectations for individual players and the team
- Location and times of practices and games
- Strength & Conditioning and other out of season opportunities
- Team rules and guidelines
- Procedures to be followed if a player is injured during participation
Communication the Coaching Staff Should Expect from Players and Parents: - Coaching staff’s treatment of your son
- Methods to help your son improve his skills
- Concern about your son’s behavior
- Notification of schedule conflicts IN ADVANCE (when possible)
- Notification of illness or injury as IN ADVANCE (when possible)
Issues That Will Not Be Discussed with the Football Staff:- Playing time
- Team strategy/play calling
- Concerns about playing time/performance of other players
Communication Process:- The concerned player and parent/guardian will meet with the head coach of his team.
- If not satisfied with the outcome, a meeting with the player, parent/guardian, head coach and football Director can be set up via a phone call or in person.
- If the situation is still not resolved, the issue can be brought to the YFL board for resolution. Resolution from the YFL board is final.
