DELSEA JR. WRESTLING

Mission Statement

The overarching objective of the Delsea Junior Wrestling organization is to promote wrestling growth & development and to prepare our youth to continue the tradition of excellence, here at Delsea, both during and beyond their time in the junior wrestling program.

We seek to provide an affordable, well-supervised, safe and competitive wrestling environment, and we work to inspire confidence and discipline in our wrestlers, ultimately fostering a love and respect for the sport of wrestling.

Our experienced coaching staff is committed to helping our young athletes to improve their technique, their team-building skills, and competitive spirit, all while emphasizing sportsmanship and poise.

Delsea wrestling, at all levels, including the high school, operates on a central belief that everything is earned and not given. We will be tough, and we will have fun.

League Information

SJWL
Delsea participates in the South Jersey Wrestling League (SJWL), a well-organized and competitive league, consisting of over 20 teams (chiefly the traditional Tri-County conference teams, plus other teams from Camden and Burlington county).

This league offers roll-arounds for all wrestlers (ages 4-12) and also offers a middle school challenge tournament for ages 13 & 14. Additionally, there is a K-6 dual team which must be comprised of Delsea sending district residents, by preference.

End of Year Tournament is available for Tots, JV, and Varsity.

SJYWL
The SJYWL is a separate league that we participate in, which includes the following teams: Vineland, Upper Twp, Lower Twp, Galloway, Pinelands, Mainland, Cumberland, Atlantic City & EHT. This league offers a K-8 dual team with open access to all wrestlers as well as a roll-around for all wrestlers. End of year tournament is also available.
