Volunteer Requirements:
To be a volunteer with Selinsgrove Area Little League, you are required to fulfill the following obligations:
1. PA Child Abuse Clearance (instructions below)
2. PA State Police Background Check (instructions below)
3. Little League Volunteer Form
4. Concussion Certification
5. JDP Little League Clearance - handled by SALL; you will receive a link via email with directions to complete

Why Become a Little League Volunteer?

Little League is an organization to build good citizens. It is a program of leadership, preparing today’s youth to be tomorrow’s leaders. At the local level, Selinsgrove Area Little League relies on a devoted legion of adult volunteers to help ensure that the organization remains structured and runs smoothly. Our league is always looking for responsible and enthusiastic individuals to support and coordinate Little League events and activities. As a volunteer, you should have a keen interest in the safety, well-being, and over development of all children involved in the program.

Who Can Volunteer?

Anyone can apply to become a volunteer. Whatever talents or skills you have, we can use them! Across the country, volunteers are grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, retirees, community leaders, former Little Leaguers, friends, neighbors, and more. Any community member who wishes to become a volunteer may apply. All parents of children involved in Little League are strongly encouraged to volunteer. As a parent volunteer, you have the opportunity to spend quality time with your child in a safe, fun-filled environment. Oftentimes, parent and social lives parallel each other. Volunteering allows your life and your child’s life to intersect on common ground with shared interests and goals.

What Can I Volunteer To Do?

The Selinsgrove Area Little League has a need for managers, coaches, umpires, team parents, concession stand managers, board members, and field maintenance volunteers.

How Do I Become a Volunteer?

If you are interested in volunteering for Selinsgrove Area Little League, please express your interest to a member of the Board of Directors or your child’s team manager. Anyone working in close connection with children will need to complete security clearances in accordance with Little League regulations and Pennsylvania state law.

What Clearances Do I Need?

Child Abuse Clearance

If you have requested a Child Abuse check in the past 57 months, please log in to your account and download the certificate. Email a copy of the certificate to the league safety officer found on the Board of Directors page. If your clearance has expired or you need a new, follow the directions below. Complete this request as a volunteer form and it should not cost you anything.

1.    Click on this link.

2.    Select Create Individual Account, select next, and fill out the information.

3.    A temporary password will be emailed to you. Retrieve the password and return to individual login on homepage.

4.    Access my clearances and continue.

5.    Enter your username and temporary password and follow the on-screen instructions.

6.    Close the window, reopen the browser, and return to the login screen.

7.    Log in using your username and new password, accept the disclaimer, and continue to create the clearance application.

8.    Select VOLUNTEER HAVING CONTACT WITH CHILDREN, enter category OTHER, and in agency name enter SELINSGROVE AREA LITTLE LEAGUE.

9.    Complete personal information.

10.On the final page, you should see NO requirement for PAYMENT. Follow the directions for FREE CHECK.

11.Download certificate and email to league safety officer.

2.    Select new record check

3.    Accept the volunteer acknowledgment section

4.    Complete the required personal information

5.    At the end, you will receive a confirmation document. Download as a PDF and email to the league safety officer.

Becoming a Volunteer for SALL

1.    Log in to your account (top of this webpage)

2.    Click the box titled VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES across the top

3.    Click the box titled FIND VOLUNTEER ROLES

4.    Select the position you are volunteering for and follow the on-screen instructions to complete your application.
