Open to ALL 9 to 14-year-old boys and girls
Description
The Players’ Academy Goalkeeping program is open to ALL 9 to 14 year old boys and girls as an introduction to the forging ground of goalkeeping fundamentals. The Players’ Academy Goalkeeper program will develop skill sets such as ball handling, diving, distribution and positional play. The program will provide aspiring goalkeepers with early fundamental movement skills, preparation for a healthy lifestyle, and serve as a bridge to developing future motor skillfulness. In addition, it will provide all players with the technical and tactical understanding for their desired level of play.
The Players’ Academy is a perfect introduction to an age appropriate soccer goalkeeping skill development and learning environment that will assist in forming the character traits that will serve children for the rest of their lives.
Curriculum
The Players’ Goalkeeper Academy program will:
· Teach the players how to develop an appetite for self-improvement and training
· Teach individual essential character traits and values
· Prepare all players with the technical and tactical understanding of goalkeeping for their desired level of play
Typical Session
A sample typical practice as part of the Players’ Academy Goalkeeping program would include: (a) Warm Up: ball handling, diving, distribution and positional play
DATES & RATES
Structure
The Players’ Goalkeeper Academy program will be open to ALL participants who will attend one session per week for a period of 7-weeks at Girsh Park.
Session 1: Fridays 4:00-5:00 pm (September 8 to October 20, 2017)
Session 2: Fridays 4:00-5:00 pm (October 27 to December 15, 2017)
*Due to Thanksgiving, no session on November 24
Location
Girsh Park Turf (7050 Phelps Rd, Goleta, CA 93117)
Fees
$120 (per player per 7-week session). All first-time participants must purchase a $15 T-Shirt (either short or long sleeve) online by clicking here.
Payment
All registered players are responsible for remitting all fees prescribed by Santa Barbara Soccer Club Players’ Academy. Payment must me made in full prior to the start of each session. Click here to register.

Please arrive to the session 15 minutes prior to the start of each session and pick-up promptly at completion. All parents/guardians must checkout PRIOR to the end of each class. Please make sure that all friends and family members who may be signing out your child are listed as authorized pick-up persons in your account.
What to bring
- Must bring a ball
- Wear proper soccer cleats or sneakers (closed toe) & shin guards
- Wear Players’ Academy attire to each practice
Discounts
· Sibling: $5 off each additional child enrolled
· Multiple Sessions: $5 off each additional session enrolled
· Return Class Participant: $5 off each child who is a return participant from 2016-17
· Early Bird: $5 off each child enrolled prior to September 1, 2017
All registrations must be submitted and paid online at the same time in order to receive a discount. Discounts CANNOT be combined, maximum $5 off per camper per week. Refund Policy or Cancellations
If you must cancel, please do so as early as possible so that we can forward you a class credit via the mail. All ONLINE payments are non-refundable unless Santa Barbara Soccer Club cancels the class.
