About Friday Night Winter League
Description
Friday Night Winter League is a 9-week gaming circuit for boys and girls of all levels, in grades Kindergarten through 5th. This is a "games only" league. No practices, just two 25 minute games on Friday nights. Small rosters ensure that kids are were they want to be - on the field! Small sided games promote more touches on the ball, more 1v1 attacking, more shots and more goals than traditional full sized games. Every player must attack and defend. Small-sided games provide more active participation which is directly related to development and enjoyment!
All games take place on the top notch Girsh Turf. We welcome interested individuals, existing teams, or groups of friends to come out and enjoy the game of soccer!
Emphasis will be on player development, touches on the ball and having fun. We strive to foster a fun, and encouraging environment where players develop their skills and a love for the beautiful game. Parents, family members and friends are encouraged to watch and support all players and teams from the sides of the field on game day.
This is a parent/volunteer coached league. We need parents to volunteer! As this is a 'games only' circuit, and we encourage players to just play, the commitment is minimal. Coaches will be distributing info to their teams, gather them prior to games/walking them to the field, and overseeing substitutions to ensure equal playing time.
There will be one coaches meeting prior to the start of the league to distribute game rules, go over expectations and answer any questions. It's a fun way to spend time with your children on Friday nights!
Divisions - We will strive to form balanced and even teams for boys and girls who will play in the following divisions:
(K-1st Grade) Play 4 v 4 - Max roster size 7 players
(2-3rd Grade) Play 5 v 5 - Max roster size 8 players
(4-5th Grade) Play 6 v 6 - Max roster size 9 players
***Please note the game formats are tentative. We reserve the right to
alter the format depending on the number of registrants, teams and what is best
for the development of the players.

*Note: We play rain or shine! (We will have a make up day March 20, 2020 if we have to cancel games due to
extreme inclement weather)
**No games Friday, February 14, 2020 due to Presidents’ Holiday

4:30pm-5:30pm (K-1, Boys/Girls)
5:30pm-6:30pm (2-3, Boys/Girls)
6:30pm-7:30pm (4-5 Boys/Girls)
*These division times are tentative and will be based on the number of teams in each division.

Rates & Discounts:
- Early Bird (Register by December 2, 2019): $160 ; Individual Registration After December 2: $175
- Sibling Discount (Automatically taken at check out): $5 off each additional sibling
- Team Discounts: Register as a team and each player receives $25 off the registration rate. Each team member is $150. Please see maximum roster size by division.

- Professionally managed league
- Two games per Friday Night - 16 games total
- Uniform (Jersey, Shorts, Socks)
- Referees are local College & High School Players
**Rates do not include a 3% Credit Card processing fee for online payments.
Payment:
All registered players are responsible for remitting all fees prescribed by Santa Barbara SC Winter League. Payment must be made in full before the start of the league.
Refund Policy or Cancellations
If you must cancel, please do so as early as possible so as not to disturb team formation. All ONLINE payments are non-refundable unless Santa Barbara SC cancels the league.
Registration:
REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! To register, click the "Login" button on the top right corner of this page. New Users will need to create a Username/Password on this website (returning users can login). Once you have logged in, the "Register" option will become available to you.
*We will try to accommodate 1 'buddy request' as best we can. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that all requests will be honored, but we make every effort to comply.
A Note for Team Registrations: If you wish to bring your own team, the "Coach" will register his or her player first under the 'Winter League '20 Team Reg button. Then, the Coach will invite members of their team to register. The Coach will receive a link that will allow players to register for the team rate of $150 each. Each player needs to complete and individual registration for liability purposes. We encourage you to bring your own team, however please be advised that we reserve the right to add players to your team if you do not roster the maximum per division. The decision to place players on your team depends on 1. game format 2. number of registrants and 3. field availability.
Please note: Only 3 Santa Barbara SC players will be permitted on one team to ensure even and fair play.
