Daryl Bearstail - Coach ([email protected])
Daryl has 14 years experience as Head Boys & Girls Basketball Coach. He served 3 years as the Head Boys Coach, and Alcohol/Drug Counselor with Mandaree High School, making it to the state Class B Boys Tournament in 2002 placing 7th. Two (2) years as the Shiloh Christian Girls Head Coach placing 6th at the State Class B Girls Tournament in 2008 (first ever state tournament appearance for Shiloh Christian Girls BB). Daryl also served as the United Tribes Technical College Athletic Director for 8 years (2004-2012), where he also served as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach for four seasons, making it to the NJCAA Region 13 Championship Game two of his fours as head coach. From 2012-2015 (3 years), Daryl served as the Athletic Director, Alcohol/Drug Counselor, and Boys Head Basketball Coach at White Shield High School. He is currently (2015-current) the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Shiloh Christian High School, returning for his second stint with the Skyhawks. The Skyhawks, under Coach Bearstail, won the schools first ever State Class B Girls Basketball Championship in 2016! He was also given the honor of being named Head Girls Coach for the 2016 Lions All-Star Basketball Team. Coach Bearstail earned his Bachelor of Science in Social Work, and Master of Management Degrees from University of Mary, in Bismarck. In 2016 Coach Bearstail received the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NDAPSSA) High School Coach of the Year. Daryl is an enrolled member of the Mandan, Hidatsa, Arikara Nation on the Fort Berthold Reservation in North Dakota, married to Jackie (Hall) Bearstail, who together have 8 children, and 9 grandchildren.
Wylee Bears Tail - Coach ([email protected])
Wylee Bears Tail currently has the North Dakota Class B State Scoring Record scoring 109 points in 3 games at the 1999 State Class B Tournament. Wylee also played 4 years of college basketball at Bismarck State College and Mayville State University in North Dakota. Wylee earned All American honors while playing at BSC for the 1999-2001 seasons. Wylee was inducted into the Bismarck State College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015. Wylee Bears Tail was employed with White Shield School district in White Shield ND from 2014-2017 . His roles were 5th Grade Teacher, Athletic Director, and Head Boys Basketball Coach. Coach Bears Tail received his Elementary Education Bachelor Degree from United Tribes Technical College in 2013. Wylee Bears Tail is an enrolled member of the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation located on the Fort Berthold Reservation in North Dakota.
Walter Bearstail - Coach ([email protected])
Walter Bearstail attended Shiloh Christian School and graduated in 2013. During his time there his team made it to the State Class B tournament 3 years placing 8th, 3rd, and 7th. As a player Walter was known as a defensive specialist, often guarding the other teams best player, he also was a good three point shooter. Walter is now entering his third year as an assistant coach for the Shiloh Christian girls basketball team, under his father Daryl Bearstail. He also has coached 6th grade basketball and track, and middle school girls basketball during his three years at shiloh as a coach. In his first season of coaching, the Lady Skyhawks captured the State Class B title defeating the 4, 1, and 2 seeds, it was the first state title in school history. Walter is currently attending the University of Mary where is he is working on a Sports Management degree. Walter is an enrolled member of the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation located on the Fort Berthold Reservation in North Dakota.
Kristin “Bearstail” Keplin - Coach ([email protected])
Kristin “Bearstail” Keplin attended Shiloh Christian School and graduated in 2008. During her time at Shiloh she led her team to the Class B Girls State Basketball Tournament in her senior season, that was the first trip to state in program history. She was a 3X All District, 3X All Region, 2008 Region 5 Senior Athlete of the Year, State Class B Tournament All Tournament Team, and 2nd team All State. After her senior season she was invited to play in the Lions All Star game. Following her senior year, she attended Williston State College where she helped lead the Lady Tetons to a 27-4 record. After that season she transferred to United Tribes Technical College where she was a preseason all american. The Lady Thunderbirds went 21-12, the best in program history. She made 123 3 pointers in a single season which was #1 in the nation. Due to her outstanding achievements she was inducted into the UTTC Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015. She finished her basketball career at Valley City State University. She played a significant role in leading the Lady Vikings to the NAIA National Tournament, first in program history. She ended her college career with 1,608 points and an overall record of 82-28. She started her coaching career at Shiloh Christian School as the middle school girls basketball coach. This past season she was the assistant women’s basketball coach for her alma-mater United Tribes. Kristin is an enrolled member of the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation located on the Fort Berthold Reservation in North Dakota.
Wesley Bears Tail - Coach
Is an enrolled member of the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation located on the Fort Berthold reservation in North Dakota. Wesley attended high school at Mandaree Public School. He was a 4 year starter for the Warriors and lead his team to the State Class B basketball tournament in 1999 and 2002. In the 4 years of playing high school ball Wesley received All District and All Region along with awards in Holiday and Invitational High School Tournaments. Wesley finished his high school career with just over 1,300 points. Wesley is also a 2x All State Cross Country runner and a member of the 2001 State Class B Cross Country Championship Title. Wesley played for one season at United Tribes where the Thunderbirds placed runner up in the regional final.
