2023 Mill Valley LL Fall Ball
Welcome to MVLL Fall Ball!
Fall Ball is intended to be a developmental stepping stone to the competitive spring leagues. There are no standings, and score is not kept during games. The emphasis is on giving ballplayers the opportunity to play new or different positions, develop and hone their skills, learn rules changes for their upcoming level of play, make new friends, and have fun!
Due to the popularity and growth of the Fall Ball program, team formation will need to change this year for AAA through Juniors divisions. For the Farm division, players will still be placed on teams based on friend and school relationships. We appreciate your support of program changes as we strive to improve the experience for our players.
- Coaches will select the teams, similar to the way teams are chosen for the spring season.
- No friend requests will be accepted for AAA through Juniors
- Players should be registered by their league age and division they plan to play next spring (see Fall Ball ages/levels below)
- Fall Ball is for players with at least one year of experience at the Star League level up through the Juniors division.
Recognizing that kids have soccer or other fall commitments, the participation requirement is limited to Sundays only. Fall Ball teams do not hold practices, but teams are free to use MVLL’s batting cages should they so choose.
Fall Ball also provides a great opportunity for first-time coaches to manage a team. It’s a low-stress way to “test the waters” to see if it’s something you’d like to do for the spring. Please indicate your willingness to coach/manage on the appropriate registration page.
Fall Ball starts on a Sunday in early September and runs for nine Sundays total. There will be a mix of games as well as professionally led skills development sessions.
The fee for Fall Ball is $190.00 per player with a $30 discount for registrations completed by July 31, and another $10 discount for re-using shirts from prior seasons. A limited number of scholarships are available by request. This fee includes a t-shirt, skills development sessions and games.
The five Fall Ball levels/divisions are:
JUNIORS: For players trying out for or returning to Juniors in spring 2023 (league age 13 and 14)
MAJORS: For players trying out for or returning to Majors in spring 2023 (league age 11 and 12)
***Exception - League age 12 players from spring 2022 will be allowed to play Majors Fall Ball instead of Juniors (please contact Mike DiPippa directly to qualify for this exception)
MINORS: For players trying out for or returning to Minors in spring 2023 (league age 10)
AAA: For 3rd graders trying out for AAA in spring 2023 (league age 9)
FARM: For 2nd graders who have participated in Star League and will be entering the farm (machine pitch) division in Spring 2023 (league age 8)
