2024 Tackle Football

Oak Grove Tackle Football Registration - Now Open!
Gear up for an exciting season of competitive youth tackle football! Our league provides young athletes ages 6 - 13 the opportunity to learn fundamentals, build skills, and experience the thrill of tackle football in a safe, supervised environment.
Registration fees cover:
  • Team equipment use
  • Quality game uniform rental (practice & game jerseys, game pants, helmet, pads)
  • Access to practice facilities
  • End-of-season awards and playoffs
  • Insurance coverage during sanctioned activities
  • One full season of Football in the AFY league and any post-season play achieved following the regular season **Off season participation (Spring) will require separate registration and rental fees
  • Pre-season scrimmages
  • One pair of game socks 
  • One practice jersey 
  • A developed football program with dedicated coaches who focus on skills and player development 
  • All practices (3 per week) for Football Program

Each player will be provided the following equipment for their use during the season to be returned at the conclusion of the season (Fees will apply for all equipment that is not returned by the communicated date of equipment returns)
•One football helmet 
•One set of shoulder pads 
•Game uniform 
***Note: Registration fee must be paid in full before any equipment is issued.

Items you will need to provide:
  • 4 Point Youth Chinstrap 
  • Football cleats

The following forms will be required for each player:
  • Image Release – MINOR
  • Waiver & Release of Liability 
  • Emergency Medical Treatment, Consent and Information
  • Medical Clearance Form (Must be dated after January 1st of the current season)
  • AYF Code of Conduct form
  • Copy of most recent Report Card
  • Copy of Birth Certificate
  • Government Issued ID (Acceptable IDs include: a valid US Passport, a state-issued DMV Photo ID or a US Military issued Photo ID.)

REGISTRATION FEE: $225 (Payment Plans Available).

ABOUT THE GREATER TRIANGLE AYF CONFERENCE: The Greater Triangle AYF Football Conference (GTFC) was established in the Raleigh, Durham, Johnston County areas to bring American Youth Football (AYF) play to this area. The GTFC covers Durham, Franklin, Granville, Johnston, Wake and Wilson Counties.

ABOUT THE AMERICAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE: American Youth Football, Inc., established in 1996, is a support services organization, dedicated to giving back to communities by promoting the wholesome development of youth through their association with exemplary adult leaders in the sport of American football and cheer. Guidelines are established to ensure that players play in an atmosphere of learning with a competitive balance between teams. 

AYF's Goals:
  • Dedicated to teaching youth through positive role models.
  • Emphasis on learning, playing, and enjoying the sport while instilling high moral standards by stressing the importance of academic achievement and community involvement.
  • Helping kids become leaders and teammates.
  • Fostering confidence and a sense of self-worth, in players that extend beyond the gridiron and into the school, family and community.
  • To prepare youngsters to face the future with sportsmanship, teamwork, honesty, responsibility, self-discipline, positive aspirations, academic preparedness and confidence. If we teach them positive lessons, such as playing by the rules, our young athletes will learn to live by the rules.
  • To lend members support yet remaining NON-INTRUSIVE to local operations.
  • To make youth football and cheer ALL-INCLUSIVE, by not excluding participants based on superficial factors (such as weight, finances or athletic ability).
  • To encourage programs for special needs, at-risk and anti-gang groups, as well as the international football community.

2024 Pirates Cheer

The Oak Grove NC Lady Pirates Cheerleading program focuses on esteeming young girls with self-confidence, physical fitness and leadership qualities. (OGAA) Cheer offers girls the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of cheerleading including jumps, formations and basic tumbling in a safe, fun, family environment. Our coaches work with each girl, helping them learn proper posture, drills, and cheers. 

Cheer teams are listed below.
Ages 4-5
Ages 6-8
Ages 9-10
Ages 11-12

*Age is determined as of August 1st of the current season*

Note: There are sometimes opportunities where multiple age groups are combined to create larger cheer groups. This is contingent upon how many kids are signed up in each age group.


Season begins: Monday, July 22, 2022

Each cheerleader will receive the following for the season:
  • Crop Top
  • Socks
  • Game Bow
  • Cancer Awareness Bow
  • Warm up Suits


Each cheerleader will be provided the following for their use during the season and to be returned at the conclusion of the season (Fees will apply for all items not returned or damaged by the communicated return date)
  • Uniform
  • Pom Poms

Items you will need to provide: (Please note there may additional items needed as the season progress. This will be communicated in advance of needing the items)
  • ALL white sneakers (preferably made specifically for cheer)


All cheerleaders must have medical clearance in order to cheer.
