This season Player Evaluations will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023.  Player evaluations are mandatory and essential to our process of creating a fair and competitive league.  The times for each age group are as follows:

Ages 5&6 9:30a - 10:30a
Ages 7&8 11:00a - 12:00p
Ages 9 & 10 12:30p - 1:30p
Middle School 2:00p - 3:00p


*5/6 Co-Ed Division: This division will be strictly instructional and fun.  Playing time is guaranteed.  Teams will be formed by OGAA volunteer coaches.  All participants will receive a uniform and a participation award for their performance and hard work.  Score will be kept and a play-off will be offered for this division. 

*8 & Under Co-Ed Division (7 & 8), 10 & Under Co-Ed Division (9 & 10), and 13 & Under Co-Ed Division - Middle School (11, 12 & 13):  These recreational divisions will concentrate on the fundamental skills while being more conscious of the rules of the game.  Playing time is guaranteed.  Players will be required to attend the player placement day, in order to receive an assessment.  Teams will be formed based upon the assessments and will be drafted by OGAA volunteer coaches.  All participants will receive a uniform and a participation award for their performance and hard work. There will be an end of season play-off offered for these divisions.   

Basketball Player Ratings: The purpose of player ratings is to rate the skills of each player in order to put together competitive and balanced teams. It is mandatory every player attend the player rating day so that teams can be as balanced as possible. Though this is not a "perfect" system, it is a fair system and the best method available.  
How player ratings work: Players will go through a series of five or six drills and are rated on a scale of 1-5. Total scores are tallied and all players are sorted according to age and gender. Players will then be selected by way of draft by OGAA volunteer coaches.  

*All players must be evaluated before they are able to play their first game of the season.  No exceptions.
