The last two months have been physically and mentally exhausting for us and our membership. Everyday wondering if and when we might have the ability to teach, play & watch the game we all LOVE 💚🥎⚾️💚. We understand that there are many questions about this season. We felt that in this moment it was best not to jump ahead and provide a timeline that is solely dependent on our State & local governments decisions to reopen. Just giving a sign to a 9-year-old to steal second base and then be thrown out against a more experienced Pitcher & Catcher is a decision easily made. The Health and Safety of our Players, Coaches, Parents, Guardians, Grand Parents, Friends & Community could depend on the actions we take. That is why making a quick decision against a Pandemic is something we absolutely do not believe we can make. With all of that being said, please know that we have every intention of starting our season when our State and Local governments clear us for play. We ask for your patience, prayers & understanding as we work with everyone involved in making the decisions to return to the field.
Current Plan
The West Virginia Strong – The Comeback plan has Low-contact outdoor youth sports listed under Week 7 (Monday June 8, 2020). This is currently is a tentative date. The Governor’s office has been releasing guidance documentation one week prior to the beginning of an opening. We will continue to watch for this guidance, in order to communicate how we will implement to our league. We will be contacting our Coaches, Volunteers & players over the next week to start the process of returning to the fields. A tentative schedule would look like this –
- CKLL Season Week 1& 2
- CKLL Season Week 3-8
