The Jerry Martenson Memorial Award is presented to the manager in each division who…

• best exemplifies Little League’s core values of Character, Courage and Loyalty;
• best demonstrates understanding of the ideal that LL is a volunteer adult work project of service to youth, geared to provide an outlet of healthful activity and training, under good leadership, in the atmosphere of wholesome community participation;
• is dedicated to the objective of helping children become good and decent citizens by instilling an appreciation  for the virtues of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play.

Jerry Martenson was a longtime coach, and before that a player, in Kearney Little League.  He encouraged skill development among the players he coached, built strong teamwork, and helped each player be their best.
