Baseball Programs offered by KEARNEY LITTLE LEAGUE.

AGES 6 & 7 PROGRAM

T-BALL

Is designed for athletes with a playing age of 6 or 7.  The league will start on the first Tuesday after Memorial Day and conclude the last Thursday in June or the first Thursday in July.  It will take place on Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:30pm to 8:30pm.  Players will be assigned to play on a set diamond at Harmon Park, Collins Park, and West Lincolnway SW.  Jerseys, hats, and team assignments will be handed out at Opening Day.  For players with a league-age of 6, the program involves hitting from a tee exclusively.  For players with a league-age of 7, a modified version of coach-pitch and tee will be utilized.  Both age groups will have 5 practice sessions and 5 games.  The final night of games will generally take place at Patriot Park.

AGES 8 - 14 PROGRAMS 

MINORS A

Is designed for athletes with a player age of 8.  Players will participate in skills assessments and all children registered will be placed on a team with a manager and coach(es).  Players will be introduced to all fielding positions except for pitching to batters.  Batters will swing at pitches from a pitching machine.  Games will be at Patriot Park's CHARACTER FIELD (#1).

MINORS AA

Is designed for athletes with a player age of 9.  Players will participate in skills assessments and all children registered will be placed on a team with a manager and coach(es).  Players will hit from a pitching machine for the first part of the season.  Once the managers have agreed, the pitching machine will be removed and players will pitch to the opposing team batters during games, with Little League pitch count rules being tracked and enfoced.  If a batter reaches ball four, then the batter's manager or coach will pitch until the batter puts the ball in play or strikes out.  Games will be at Patriot Park, on COURAGE FIELD (#2).

MINORS AAA

Is designed for athletes with a player age of 10 and 11.  Players will participate in skills assessments and all children registered will be placed on a team with a manager and coach(es).  All players with a playing age of 10 will be on a Minors AAA team, as well as roughly half of the players with a playing age of 11.  Players will pitch to the opposing team batters during games and Little League pitch count rules will apply.  If a batter reaches ball four, then the batter's manager or coach will pitch until the batter puts the ball in play or strikes out.  Games will be at Patriot Park, on LOYALTY FIELD (#4).

MAJORS

Is designed for athletes with a player age of 11 and 12.  Players will participate in skills assessments and all children registered will be placed on a team with a manager and coach(es).  All players with a playing age of 12 will be on a Majors team, as well as roughly half of the players with a playing age of 11.  A maximum of eight 12-year olds are allowed per team, per Little League rules.  Eleven year olds that are not selected to the Majors will play in the Minors AAA division to sharpen their skills for their Majors season when they are twelve.  Players will pitch to the opposing team batters during games and Little League pitch count rules will be tracked and enforced.  Games will be played on Patriot Park's CHAMPIONSHIP FIELD (#3).

JUNIORS

Is designed for athletes with a player age of 13 and 14.  Players will participate in skills assessments and all children registered will be placed on a team with a manager and coach(es).  Little League pitch count rules will apply during the season.  Games will be at Elks Field & Kiwanis Field at West Lincolnway Park.

CHALLENGER

Challenger Baseball is a program designed for children ages 5 through 21 with physical or mental disabilities.  Challenger Baseball will meet once a week for 5 weeks on Wednesdays, beginning after Memorial Day.  Games will be played on the Brad Bowman Accessible Field at Patriot Park.
