2021 Pop Warner Cheer and Football


Pop Warner Football & Cheerleading

The mission of Pop Warner Little Scholars is to enable young people to benefit from participation in team sports and activities in a safe and structured environment. Through this active participation, Pop Warner programs teach fundamental values, skills and knowledge that young people will use throughout their lives.Pop Warner seeks to provide fun athletic learning opportunities for children, while emphasizing the importance of academic success. Specifically, Pop Warner seeks to familiarize players and spirit participants with the fundamentals of football, cheerleading and dance.

    • Packets are available for pick-up.  
    • Registration extended to close Thursday, July 29 at 3 p.m.
    • Football equipment distribution is Sunday, July 31 at the MLK Center from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
    • A parent meeting will be scheduled the first week of practice with each team

    Season: Sunday, Aug. 1–Sunday, Dec. 5

    Practices are held weekday evenings; games take place on Saturdays.

    *Must pay fees and have completed the registration packet before a child can practice 

    Football:

    Ages 5-12. A child's age on July 31 is their age for the season.

    City residents: $111.00 (GRU bill or voter's ID required for verification)
    Non-city residents: $166.25

    Cheerleading:

    City residents: $55.25 (GRU bill or voter's ID required for verification)
    Non-city residents: $81.75

    1. Registration packets can be picked up at the Thomas Center lobby and also at MLK Recreation Complex located at 1028 Northeast 14th Street, Gainesville, FL 32601. 
    2. Please print out the information (registration packet and handbook) and read through it carefully and begin the paperwork process. Please make copies of birth certificates, report cards, etc. 
    3. Thomas Center will be closed to the public until July 1, please call the PRCA front desk, 352-334-5067 for a schedule when you can come in to register in person. You will be dropping paperwork off in a drop box and there will be no opportunity to make copies.
    4. Please be sure that ALL DOCUMENTS are in your packet. To avoid multiple trips make sure to use the clipboard tool to make sure you have all of the necessary paperwork. If your packet is not complete, your child will not be registered and spot may be jeopardized until all paperwork is received.

     

    If you need assistance or have any questions, you may call 352-334-5067 and someone will be glad to help you.

    Registration will require ALL required forms to be filled out correctly and completely. Please use the checklist provided in the packet to make sure you have everything. 2021 physicals have to be on a 2021 Pop Warner physical form and remember report cards for SBAC students can be printed out from the Skyward portal. PAYS Certification MUST be completed or renewed by the parent.  Registration packets will not be accepted without an updated PAYS form.

Tackle Football:

Offered to boys ages 5-11.  Practices are held during the week and games are played on Saturdays during the Fall. 

Fees:

City Residents: $105.75 (GRU bill or Voter's Registration card required for verification)
Non City Residents: $158.75

Cheerleading:

Offered to girls ages 5-15.  Practices are held during the week and games are played on Saturdays during the Fall.

Fees:

City Residents: $52.00 (GRU bill or Voter's Registration card required for verification)
Non City Residents: $77.75

Registration opens on June 3rd!!  

You may stop by the Thomas Center, 3rd floor, to pick up your packets.  After getting them completed, you can return to the Thomas enter to register.  Please note that no child will be registered if the packets are not 100% completed and ALL documents are included.  There will be no exceptions to this.
