Phoenix PONY Baseball Board Responsibilites



Executive Board (Elected Annually):

President: Head of Executive Board, General Authority over Board meetings, local PONY organization and liaison to other PONY organization. Chairman of the Coaches Committee.
 
Vice President: Acts as a liaison to School District.  Negotiates field use contracts. Reviews and approved all practice and game schedules.  Generates and ensures all schedules are in uniform formats.  Chairman of the Rules Committee.

Secretary: Receives all player registrations and assigns to individual leagues. Maintains all player/family personal records.  Monitors League websites.

Treasurer: Oversight and development of League budgets (P&L statements).   Establishes League entry fees.  Managements of bank account(s) and investments.  Pays all bills.  Completes all federal, state and local tax forms.  Ensures current documents with AZ Corporation Commission.  Registers AFPBA teams with State and National PONY Organizations. Maintains current insurance. 

At Large Positions (granted by appointment):

Uniform Coordinator: Reports to Secretary. Responsible for bidding every two years for new uniforms for league and for distribution of items to League Directors/Coaches.

Equipment Coordinator: Reports to Secretary. Responsible for bidding all replacement equipment for league and for distribution of items to League Directors/Coaches.  Develop a replacement cycle for equipment to ensure an even annual replacement cost.

Club Division Director: Reports to President. Oversees all Club and Competitive Division teams, coaches and players. Distributes Division Schedules, Member of the Coaches and Rules Committee.

Shetland and Tee Ball League Director:  Reports to President. Oversees all Shetland Division teams, coaches and players. Generates, distributes and oversees Division Schedules, Member of the Coaches and Rules Committee.

Bronco League Director:  Reports to President. Oversees all Bronco and Competitive Division teams, coaches and players. Distributes and oversees Division Schedules, Member of the Coaches and Rules Committee.

Pinto League Director: Reports to President. Oversees all Pinto and Competitive Division teams, coaches and players. Distributes  and oversees Division Schedules, Member of the Coaches and Rules Committee.

Mustang League Director: Reports to President. Oversees all Mustang and Competitive Division teams, coaches and players. Distributes and oversees Division Schedules, Member of the Coaches and Rules Committee.

Pony/Colt League Director: Reports to President. Oversees all Pony/Colt and Competitive Division teams, coaches and players. Distributes and oversees Division Schedules, Member of the Coaches and Rules Committee.

Softball League Director: Reports to President. Oversees all Softball and Competitive Division teams, coaches and players. Distributes and oversees Division Schedules, Member of the Coaches and Rules Committee.

Player Agent(s): Reports to President involved with any player, parent or coach issues. Oversees All Star process by assisting Division Directors.  Coordinates, manages and directs all Division player evaluations.  Works closely with Safety Director in event of an injury.  See also Player/Coach Training and Safety Director.

Umpire Director: Reports to VP. Manages all game umpire scheduling. 

Field Maintenance Director: Reports to VP. Responsible for all field maintenance Works with School District on maintenance issues. 

Events Director: Reports to Treasurer. Coordinates Picture and D-Back Night. Sets up external and internal events.

Player/Coach Training and Safety Director: Reports to Secretary.  Ensures all coaches are properly trained in Coaching and are First Aid and Concussion Certified.  Works with Equipment Coordinator to ensure all 1st Aid Kits are in proper condition.  Works with Secretary to ensure all coach background checks are acceptable.  Notified in the event of any player, fan, parent or coach injury at a PONY event/game/practice.  Will keep all written records of injury reports and turn over to Secretary upon review and investigations if required. 

Sponsorship and Marketing Director: Reports to Treasurer. Handles all media, press releases, external marketing, sponsorship and posts to league website (works closely with Secretary).

Committees

Rules Committee: VP (chairman), Director of Umpires and all Division Directors.

Coaches Committee: League President, Player Agent (Chairman) and all Division Directors. 

Fundraising Committee: Director of Comm/Market/Fundraising and volunteers

Opening Ceremonies Committee (proposed)
