Philosophy:
All players are coached in the Barcelona USA MD system and philosophy to play under one specific style, Tiki-Taka. This style of play uses short/fast passes and movements in order to work the ball through various zones while maintaining possession; players are not positioned, but work together as a team on the field allowing more fluidity and freedom.
Mission:
The goal is to develop players. These players will gain technical expertise, tactical awareness and professional discipline - skills that will help them to advance and contribute to compete at the highest-level competition of soccer.
The top players in each age group will be identified as homegrown players. A homegrown player who is talented enough to play at the best tournaments in the country. The Team will have the opportunity to been seen by college coaches.
Player Identification:
- Identify players within the Tri-State area with the potential to excel in soccer
- Recruit players who have the dedication and desire to reach the highest level of competition in the sport of soccer
Player Development: Develop talented and dedicated players by:
- Providing top-class coaching and facilities;
- Providing professional support staff;
- Provide all the support and resources needed to help develop players and inspire them to reach their highest potential;
- Focusing on player development that stresses individual growth by establishing and reaching goals;
- Creating a competitive and fun learning environment that prioritizes development over winning;
Instilling values and life skills that benefit players outside of soccer: teamwork, discipline, and commitment; and * Stressing importance of education in the overall development of each player.
