PWLL Historical Timeline
- 1963: PWLL is formed as a 100% volunteer-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
- 1967: PWLL wins its first District Championship.
- 1969: 1st Lt. Ross Memorial Park, the home of PWLL, was dedicated on May 4, 1969. Lt. Ross, who was born and raised in West Peabody, was killed in action in Vietnam on August 22, 1968.
- 2001: PWLL wins its first Sectional Championship.
- 2006: PWLL wins its first Massachusetts State Championship.
- 2009: PWLL wins the New England Regional Championship, advancing to the Little League World Series.
PWLL is part of MA District 16, which consists of 15 little leagues and 5 softball leagues. Lt. Ross Park is one of the few parks on the North Shore with lighted Little League fields, allowing for night games. PWLL is among a very exclusive group of leagues that have TWO lighted fields. When we began, we were one of FIVE Little League organizations in Peabody. Today, PWLL and Peabody Little League are the two leagues in the city.
The PWLL Board of Directors consists of 16 members, 100 percent of whom are volunteers.
PWLL Championships
Peabody West Little League has produced 14 District Championships and 7 Sectional Championships. Our league won the Massachusetts State Championship in 2006 and 2009 and advanced to the Little League World Series in 2009 after capturing the New England Regional Championship.
