Dear Friends of the Gary Cougars Pop Warner Football & Cheer Program:
As a respected business (constituent) in the City of Gary, I wanted to speak with you about a unique opportunity for collaboration. I am writing of behalf of The Gary Cougars Pop Warner Cheer Youth Program (formerly known as the Gary Steelers). This is one of the only existing extracurricular programs in our city that provides youth with leadership development and social skills through sports and scholastics. We need your help to ensure that the program continues another season. Currently, we have identified the below items as high priority needs for a cheerleader to participate:
1. Equipment/practice donations – $2,500
2. Sponsors or underwriters for our End of Season Awards Banquet - $3,500
3. Sponsor a participant(s) - $300 per cheerleader
4. Sponsor a participant(s) - $260 per football player
5. Sponsor Cheer Competitions $5,000
Will you make a donation today? As you consider, please allow me to share more about our organization. We are a not-for-profit program that promotes social, academic and sports development for youth ages 5 to 13 years old. We provide a safe and structured environment, while teaching fundamental values, skills and knowledge to help train our youth to be productive and responsible adults. We’ve done so much with our limited resources since beginning the program in 1995:
· Mentored over 2,500 youth
· Produced 50 All American Little Scholars
· Had 3 youth join national football teams
· Won 2 national competitions and 8 regional competitions
Our record and the growth of our organization is evidence of our commitment and the integrity of our work with our youth in the City of Gary. Also, with the drastic budget cuts in the Gary Community School Corporation, we’ve become a resource for our local schools.
