Our second stage in The Chicago Soccer institute's core programming. We provide players with a game based approach where they spend the entire hour playing the game we all have grown to love. Players arrive and they will play a small-sided game guided by the coaches with what we want to accomplish for the day. We will then provide some practice at the skills we want them to accomplish for the day. The players will finish each session by playing a small-sided game where we coach the players on how to apply the newly learned skills while playing in the game. Every class is taught by a licensed professional coach. Classes run for 60 minutes in six week or eight week sessions.
Middle Maestros builds on the progress of our Mini Maestros program. We used a reality based games approach to develop players' skills in dribbling, passing, and shooting. Players will learn different moves to change direction, to beat a player, and to keep possession of the ball. We build on a player's ability to make decisions by introducing the concept of 2v1, basic support play, and being able to find defenders to make the best decision with the ball possible. Simplicity reigns in coaching instructions ranging from, "Find a friend" to "find space to dribble, pass, or shoot to score."
