About the Skills Assessment
All Banning Pass Little League players registered for Upper Division baseball and softball are required to attend the mandatory Skills Assessment on the date and location below. The assessment is not a try-out as there are no "cuts" in Little League. Instead, these assessments assist our managers in creating balanced and competitive teams during the player draft.*

Players petitioning to "play up" or "play down" to a different level (Minor and intermediate (50/70)) within the Upper Division will attend the assessment for their age group.
Please assure your son or daughter there is no "failing" in the Skills Assessment. This is not tryouts. We use skills assessment to evaluate the best division for your child so they are playing with players with similar abilities and similar age. Since assessment can be more nerve-racking for parents than the Little Leaguer, here’s some info to ease you through the process.
To get ready for the skills assessment, we certainly encourage you to play catch with them in the days leading up to it. On the day of the assessment, it is probably a good idea to throw the ball with them to get their arms loose prior to coming. At the assessment, we will have bats and helmets available for players to use during their skills demonstration. Players are welcome to bring their own as well. Players should bring their own baseball glove.
The skills assessment will be held at Lions Park.
Players registered to play at the minor level (player pitch) and higher are required to go through the draft process. To support the draft process, team managers will evaluate each player's basic skills by watching them during a set of skill activities.
The assessment will involve but not limited to these basic skills:
Running
Throwing
Fielding Ground Balls
Hitting
Each player who is league age-eligible for the draft must attend one of the scheduled skills assessment to be considered for a any of our teams. It is not necessary to attend both days.
Once Skills Assessments are complete, the drafts will be held for team selections.
