Do I need previous cheer experience?

No experience necessary! We will give you the proper training needed to succeed. Previous cheer experience and/or tumbling is definitely a plus! 

What is the time commitment?

Practices start with conditioning/instruction 4 times a week in mid-July, cutting down to 2-3 times a week once the school year begins and through the end of the season in mid-November. Attendance is required at all Saturday games and choreography sessions (schedules based by squad).

What is the cost?

Registration is $400 plus the cost of uniform is separate. Registration closes July 17th, 2023. Uniform fitting is mandatory for all cheerleaders. Our uniform fitting will be on June 10th starting at 9:00AM, location TBD.

What other additional costs will there be?

Additional costs consist of the uniform and entry fees to games/competition. To elaborate on the uniform cost; it could cost around $400 on the HIGH end (liner, shell top, skirt, spanks, cheer shoes, Breast Cancer awareness socks, poms, cheer bag, 2 bows, camp clothes (t-shirt, tank & shorts) and a sweatshirt for cold weather games).

What does my $400 registration cost go towards?

Registration fees are budgeted to pay for camps, 10 hours for choreography (half time routines), fees for the girls to compete at SYF’s cheer showcase/competition, end of season awards, insurance and facility fees.

What should I wear on the first day of practice?

Spirit colors ONLY – royal blue, red and white, camp clothes. No logos except for CBJF. Athletic cheer shoes (white preferred). The game day shoes for THIS season are only to be worn at games/competition.

How will the cheer teams be determined/split up this season?

Cheerleaders will be placed on squads according to their age (as of 8/1/23):

Mascot (Age 5-in Tk/K) **Will form part of 8U for 2023**

14U (Only 8th graders)

*Depending on enrollment, there is a possibility that two squads will be combined (we won’t make that decision until registration closes).
