FLAG Football Camp Info Sheet

LHYSL provides a fun, non-contact, developmental Coed Flag Football experience for boys and girls, Pre-K to grade 6 kids.  We will teach fundamentals, conditioning, discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork as it pertains to Coed non-contact flag football in a fun atmosphere. 
This camp/clinic will concentrate on passing, running, receiving, route running, and defensive coverage.
This camp serves as great stepping stone for kids that are interested in tackle football or help skills for the kids who already compete in tackle football.

The camp/clinic is usually held in the spring (March – April – May) at Craig Field (behind North Elementary).

Each participant will be supplied a team shirt (which they keep) and flags.

Each participant is expected to bring with them a mouthpiece/guard, Black shorts w/o pockets, Cleats (football or soccer) NO Baseball Cleats, and water for hydration.

·   Flag Football camp can be made up of 3 divisions.

ü  Pee Wee – Pre-K and Kindergarten age players

ü  Mini – 1st, 2nd, & 3rd grade age players

ü  Junior – 4th, 5th, & 6th grade age players

Each division may have more than one team or may be combined depending on registration numbers.
Participants may be assigned to a division differing from their grade based on size and skill.  This will keep all divisions competitive.

·   Flag Football General Information

ü  Each team will participate in organized football drills.

ü  Each team will have at least 4-6 players and coaches that will teach fundamentals.

ü  There will be a practice then after will be game after the practice session (weeks 3-6).  Practice is usually an hour then the game is appx 30 - 45 min.

ü  Each season will end with a Championship / Awards day.

ü  Practices and games will usually be on the weekend (Sunday evenings).

ü  Transportation to and from practices and games is the responsibility of the Parents.

·   Registration and Schedule “Tentative”

ü  Online Registration is usually February to Mid-March (Fees to be determined)

ü  Evaluations/Combine would be on Week 1 - Practice only.  Week 2 will be mostly practice then have a "mock" game.

            *If weather is poor, evaluations will be moved to the next week of camp with practice/game to follow.

*If a practice or game is cancelled due to inclement weather, every attempt will be made to reschedule.  If a reschedule is not possible the camp will be shortened.
