BRING BACK BOWEN FIELD

Connecticut District 12 Little League would love to bring Eastford’s Bowen Field back to a great Little League Field.  Pomfret-Eastford Little League has declined in attendance and the need for the field is not what it use to be.   There is a need for more fields in the district and we would love to  improve the Little League field to make a universal field available to all the leagues in the area.  A universal field is one that can be used for T-Ball, Coach Pitch, Baseball, Softball & Challenger. The Little League Challenger Program is Little League’s adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical and intellectual challenges.

The large field fills a large need in the area as we are short on full sized fields that are totally fenced.  We are also working on a new program with other districts for a summer league that this field will be well suited for.

Our goal is to have kids playing and enjoying these fields again!

To bring Bowen Field back to life we need to first make the field safe then we will work on improving the field.  To do so we are looking for volunteers to help with repairs, donations of material and we are running a fundraiser.  We need to raise $15,000 to apply for a matching grant from Little League.  Our plan is to add dugout roofs, new benches, install a scoreboard, repair the infields, etc.

We are looking for Donations of:   Shed, Riding Lawn Mower, Paint. Plywood, Shingles, Vinyl Siding

Labor Donations for: Electrical, Landscaping (infield clay installation), New Dugout Roof, Fence Repair & A Mason
