CYC BACKGROUND CHECK POLICY
Convicted of Drug Charges: Including distributing, intent to distribute, manufacturing, and possession – May not volunteer; Lifetime restriction
Unless board specifically waves restriction on a case by case basis and provided that any probationary period has terminated for not less than two years
Convicted Sex Offender: May not volunteer; Lifetime restriction
Convictions Pertaining to Abuse: Including, but not limited to Child Abuse, Child Neglect, Domestic Violence - May not volunteer; Lifetime restriction
Convicted of Gun and/or Weapon Charges/Violations: May not volunteer if offense is within 10 years
Convicted of Felony Charges: May not volunteer if offense is within 10 years
Convicted of Misdemeanor Charges : Including, but not limited to crime against another person, assault, battery, drug and/or alcohol charges such as consumption/use/possession, theft or conversion – May not volunteer if within the past 5 years
If there are pending charges in any of the above categories, a person shall be ineligible to volunteer until said charges are dismissed or if found not guilty. If a person is found guilty then above rules shall apply. If a person has charges dismissed or is found not guilty, a person shall be eligible to volunteer.
