Did you know that we have a championship football team right here in Isle of Wight County? The Smithfield Packers Youth Sports 8U Football team (student-athletes aged 7-8) have secured a perfect 10-0 regular season (being the first undefeated season in recent history). Following the Peninsula Youth Football and Cheerleading Organization playoffs (which occur following the regular season in November) the next stop on their unbeaten season is the United YFL Championship in Plant City, Florida.
As you can imagine, the costs involved for the transportation, lodging, and meals for a 30-person team is quite extensive (our estimate per student-athlete is $1,000.00). We are looking for local business community support as we prepare to help fund this venture for our 8U football team.
