2023 CEGCYRA 5th Grade Girls Basketball Invitational

• Tournament Entry Fee

  • The tournament fee is $175.00/team to help us defray the cost of officials and staff for our tournament. 

  • There will be two licensed officials for all games.

  • Three game guarantee

  • Payment must be made one week after registration.

• Tournament Field

  • Teams competing in our round robin include: Eureka, Metamora, Washington Panthers,El Paso and Oly Swish

• Doors Open

  • Doors will open at 5:45 on Friday and 7:45 AM on Saturday, December 9th - they will not open early.

  • Upon arrival, use the north entrance of the school - facing Cruger Ave. There are parking lots on the North, East, and West sides of the school.

• Dressing Rooms

  • There are only public restrooms available for changing, so please make sure your players are aware of this. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Each team will have an assigned team table in the cafeteria. 

• Warm-ups

  • Pre-game warm-ups will be minimal to stay on schedule. We will aim to provide 5-10 minutes between games. Please have your teams ready to take the floor. No players will be allowed on the floor prior to this time. 

• Admission

  • Adults - $5.00, Children - $3.00, Seniors - $2.00, 

  • Active & Retired Military - Free with proper id. 

  • Wristbands must be worn during the tournament.

  • Three coaches per team will receive free admission.

  • A hospitality room for coaches and officials will be provided. 

• Concessions

  • Our concession stand will be stocked with a variety of items available for purchase during the day including; donuts, coffee, bake sale items,  hot lunch and cold lunch food, candy, pre-packaged snacks, gatorade, water, and pop.  

  • Food & drinks from outside restaurants is not allowed into the tournament. 

• Trophies

  • There will be a trophy and medals for first and second place. Please be sure to stay for this small presentation, as CEGCYRA is not responsible for delivering trophies and medals to teams that leave. 

• Sportsmanship

  • Our goal for the day is to have a competitive tournament for all teams. We are asking that all players, coaches, and fans display good sportsmanship on and off the basketball court. 

  • Poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated and players, coaches, and/or fans will be ejected if they display unsportsmanlike behavior. Profanity will not be tolerated.

Tournament Rules & Details

• Game Format

  • Games will consist of four (4), six (6) minute quarters and follow IESA rules with exceptions noted below.

• Tie Game

  • Should a tie result at the end of a game, a two (2) minute overtime period will be played to determine the winner with one (1) full time out per team. 

• Halftime

  • Halftime will be five (5) minutes.

  • Teams can congregate out the doors next to their benches. 

• There will be approximately 5-10 minutes between most games. 

• Pressing

  • Teams may press for the last minute of the second (2nd) and fourth (4th) quarters. 

  • If a team is leading by 15 or more points entering (or during) the 4th quarter, there will be a running clock for the remainder of that game.  If there is a running clock in the 4th quarter, it will only be stopped for time outs.  

• Scoreboard

  • CEGCYRA will provide the official book.

  • The team listed first, will be the home team on the scoreclock.

• The tournament may run ahead of schedule, so please ensure your players are ready to play.

• Players cannot represent two teams during the tournament, and must be of the correct grade or below. Once a player has played for one team (during the tournament), they cannot play for a sister team.
