Hulmes–Warner (Mini Fenway) Field Use Policy
General Overview
Before submitting a request, please note:
- Field use priority is always given to Belchertown Little League (BLL) programs
- All reservations are subject to cancellation due to BLL scheduling, weather, or field conditions
- Field access is extremely limited
- Primary use of the field is youth baseball
Field Use Priorities
BLL evaluates requests based on:
- Compatibility of use
- Community affiliation
- User group needs
- Contribution to community health
- Years of service to the community
Scheduling Guidelines
- No events before 9:00 AM or after dusk
- With lighting approval: no later than 10:00 PM
- Youth programming is prioritized:
- Weekdays: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Saturdays: 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM
- Sundays: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Adult sports are not permitted, except yoga on outfield grass
Permits & Requirements
- Applicants must be 18+ and present during use
- Priority given to Belchertown residents
- Permits are not valid until payment and insurance are received
- Payment + insurance due within 10 business days
- Do not advertise events until permit is officially issued
Rental Fees
- $250 — 2-hour daytime rental
- $400 — 2-hour rental with lights
Note: Does NOT include access to:
- Announcer booth
- Batting cages
- Snack shack
Cancellation Policy
By Applicant
- Short-notice cancellations may result in reduced or no refund
By BLL
- BLL may cancel at any time due to:
- Safety concerns
- Field protection
- Rescheduled BLL events
- Full refund or reschedule will be offered
Insurance Requirements
- Minimum:
- $1M per occurrence / $2M aggregate liability
- Property damage coverage required
- Must name:
- Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Town of Belchertown
- Belchertown Little League
Field Rules & Regulations
Field Protection
- No digging or damaging turf
- Stay off infield grass unless playing a game
- No vehicles on fields
Conduct & Safety
- Closed-toe shoes required
- No metal cleats
- No smoking, vaping, or alcohol
- No gambling
Food & Cleanliness
- No food in dugouts or on field
- Trash must be removed or placed in barrels
- Groups are responsible for cleanup and damages
Equipment & Usage
- Dugouts for seating and gear only
- No shaking fences or damaging structures
- No chemicals except approved field lining products
Restrictions
- No amplified sound without approval
- No vendors without permits
- No admission-based events without special permit
- No egg toss/water games
Liability & Responsibility
- Permit holders assume full responsibility for:
- Participants
- Damages
- Injuries
- Must indemnify BLL and the Town of Belchertown
- BLL may revoke permits for violations
Important Notes
- Permits are non-transferable
- Field must be vacated on time
- Violations may result in:
- Immediate removal
- Loss of permit
- Future denial
