Our League is a non-profit organization that relies heavily on volunteer support. We are NOT AFFILIATED WITH THE TOWN RECREATION DEPARTMENT, and receive only a small stipend from them (approx. $775.00). We do receive support from the DPW in the form of grass cutting. The registration fee charged covers ONE-FOURTH of the cost for a player
. The rest comes from fund raising and sponsor support.
WE REQUIRE, THAT ALL PARENTS PARTICIPATE FOR ONE EVENING AT THE CONCESSION STAND and THAT THEY SELL ONE BOX OF CANDY. There is an available option to “buy out” of these duties. Volunteers are also sought to act as coaches, coordinators for fund raising etc. When you register your child for play, you will see various volunteer opportunities. Volunteers are always needed!
Fund raising events include:
- Door to Door Collection - The League Managers and Coaches along will all the team players will drop off and pick up envelopes on specified weekends for this year’s door to door canvass
- Pancake Breakfast - The pancake breakfast/sports auction is one of the best events of the year. Kids and parents alike, look forward to an array of sports memorabilia up for auction at the event. A lot of hard work is put into this event and many volunteers are needed for this function to be a success.
- Candy Sale - The candy sale features a premium box of candy (all brand name), which all players are required to sell, unless the candy-less option, ($50.00 per player) was taken. All children will be given two weeks to sell candy. No candy-less options will be accepted after March 1 due to candy being ordered.
