3X3 Recap

I would like to thank everyone who came out to the FIBA 3X3 Tournament this past weekend. This was our first time ever doing an event like this for basketball as a group for Del Riv, and with all of our participants. I know that some of it was very confusing, and at times very chaotic, but I am grateful for everyone's patience with us as we continue to grow and learn what works and doesn't work for our program. We would love to continue building a new tradition with this 3X3 Tournament every season and will work on making it better for next year.

I wanted to shout out the high schoolers who stayed with us yesterday and worked the tournament, problem-solved quickly to keep the games moving, sometimes without my help and in general showed-up to support the young athletes by taking time out of their day to be a part of what we are building in this community. It speaks volumes that we have teens working with and helping to develop the youth involved in this game. So, thank you to Cameron, Sunnie, Maddie, Jayden and one of our 6th graders Rachael (helping with Check-In), and two of our 8th Graders, Jill and Kalin.

I also wanted to thank the coaches who came yesterday and also helped out on the court with their players and monitored the courts for us and I would like to thank all the families and kids who came out and participated as well as the ones who decided to keep their kids home due to not feeling well, we appreciate your consideration, truly.

We will continue to look for improvements as we know that we have a lot of things about the tournament we are hoping to correct or do better. I am excited about the future of Del Riv Youth Sports Winter Basketball Program.
