COVID-19 Response

Dear Aviation Families,

What an intense couple of weeks it has been! Aviation Little League has been keeping a close look at all developments as they come in from the Center for Disease Control as well as the Health Department, and we were hoping that we could keep games going so at least we'd have baseball. The Aviation Little League board of directors had a meeting a couple of nights ago and initially decided to move forward with games and practices as scheduled, making some changes as recommended by Little League International and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). That decision was reconsidered this afternoon, in light of the recommendation from Little League International that all activities, practices, and games, be suspended until April.

The Aviation Little League board of directors considered not only the Little League International recommendation, but also the decisions and recommendations of the Los Angeles County Office of Education, the Los Angeles Unified School District, the NCAA, and other organizations responsible for oversight of youth and early adult athletic programs. While there is some variance in approach, all organizations are in alignment with a suspension of activities into April.

Taking all of the available information and recommendations into account, Aviation Little League is suspending all games and practices tentatively through April 14th. This decision also falls in line with the mandated Wiseburn School District closure and suspension of all after school and extracurricular activities. Aviation Little League will continuously monitor and evaluate the COVID-19 pandemic in the coming weeks. Aviation Little League will notify families when we can resume all little league activities. We are also attaching the letter we received from Little League International for your information.
