2020 Season and Coronavirus Update

Dear Gilroy Little League Families,

Thank you for your patience while we take the last two days to monitor the Coronavirus (COVID-19), as we want to assure you that our main priorities and concern is for the health, safety, and well-being of our GLL participants, staff and their families.

Practices/Opening Day/Season Games:   
Effective 3/10/2020, all Practices/ Opening Day Ceremonies/ and Season games will resume as scheduled (Weather Permitting).

We do ask that all Managers Players,Parents and families follow the following guidelines: 

If you or your child are ill; have a fever, cough, or respiratory condition; have a compromised immune system; are in any other group that may be at an increased risk of contracting a virus like the corona-virus; or have recently traveled to a country listed on the CDC’s Risk Assessment by Country, we encourage you or your child to refrain from Little League-related activities until cleared by your healthcare provider.

Gilroy Little League will exercise utmost precaution following the guidance of local, state and federal health agencies. In addition, cleaning and sanitizing hard surfaces and shared equipment that your league utilizes; tipping caps instead of shaking hands at the end of a game; making sure all players have their own water/drink bottles and are not sharing. 

Gilroy Little League would like to again thank you all for your patience and understanding while our organization took the necessary steps and procedures by working together with Little League D59, Little League International, and Local County and City Agencies to mitigate the potential risk of our Little League Families. 

Below are additional recommendations by the Center of Disease Control 

CDC recommendations:
  • Stay home when sick
  •  If you have traveled to a known Corona-virus outbreak area, monitor your health closely for 14 days upon return. Click here for more information. 
  •  Use good hand washing habits (soap and water for 20 seconds or more). Use gel hand sanitizer when available.
  •  Avoid touching your face
  •  Avoid contact with people who are sick
  •  Practice good cough /sneeze etiquette 
  •  Clean work, home and school surfaces often
