A-Coach Pitch Baseball

This level of play fosters continued skills development and a better understanding of the rules and nuances of the game. The focus remains on the fun of playing the sport while coaching attention is given to fielding, making plays, accurate throwing, proper hitting technique and preparing the player for player-pitch at the “AA” level.

Mainly League Age 7 with some League Age 6

AA-Kid Pitch Baseball

The “AA” Division is a level of baseball where a higher level of game understanding and ability is taught. Competition as it relates to winning and losing is introduced at this level. Winning and losing remain secondary to the essential goal of teaching each player to embrace success or failure with grace and to learn from both. Primary goals are to give players as much experience as possible and encouragement of ongoing development for all players in all phases of the game. This important developmental division provides a relatively even but not necessarily equal distribution of playing time among players. “AA” includes player pitch, with coaches stepping in to pitch when needed. Coaches are also the umpire during the game. Players are drafted onto a team and are evaluated prior to the draft. By the end of the season players are expected to have refined their skills so they may successfully participate at the Minors level the following year.

Mainly League Age 8 with some League Age 7

Minor - Player Pitch - Little League Baseball

This division of Little League promotes a higher level of competition than “AA” and emphasizes more of the standard rules of Little League Baseball. The focus in Minors remains on education, development and teamwork while encouraging a deeper understanding of the game and advancing skill development in order to prepare players for successful participation at the Majors level.

League Age 9 & 10

Major - Little League Baseball

Boys Majors Division is a competitive division. It is mainly comprised of League Age 11 & 12, but some League Age 10 may challenge up. This division promotes competition to a higher degree as compared to the Minor League. Within this more competitive environment, the emphasis remains on improving baseball skills, building individual self-esteem, promoting team camaraderie, and emphasizing fair play. The division is designed to be both the satisfying culmination of some players’ Little League careers and to prepare other players for higher levels of play, including the advancement in the Little League Tournament play and readiness to move up to play on the full 90 foot diamond.

League Age 11 & 12

Junior - Little League Baseball

Boys Juniors Division is a competitive division and is designed for a player that has played a year in Majors or Intermediate. All games are scored, and full baseball rules are in effect. This division gets players ready for High School baseball. When division has 3 or less teams some travel to games against other Little Leagues will be required.

League Age 13 & 14 year olds and some league age 15 who are still in 8th grade

Senior - Little League Baseball

Boys Seniors Division is a very competitive division for High School level players. This division starts after the high school season ends, which is normally in mid-May. Travel to away games is required. Home games played at Gilroy Sports Park. Away games played at various cities within Santa Clara County. Games will be played against other Little Leagues in our District and surrounding Districts.

League Age 14 – 16. High School players are preferred
