Charles "Coach Barkley" Johnson

Coach Barkley began his coaching career at Carey Gardens Boys & Girls Club as a gym coordinator.
He gained coaching experience through coaching at various Local summer Tournaments (11u 13u 15u 17u).
In a ten-year span Coach Barkley has coached some of the most talented student-athletes in the city. He is also credited with assisting numerous players with admission to Division I Division II colleges as well as at the Juco level.
Coach Barkley has coached and developed athletes such as; Sebastian Telfair, Chris Taft, Quincy Douby, Lance Stephenson and Truck Bryant at early ages.
Coach Barkley transitioned into coaching women's basketball at Technical Career College in Manhattan New York. In 2009-10, three years into coaching at TCI he took the team to their first championship in the school's history. Coach Barkley went on to recruit players that became players of the year, led the nation in rebounding, blocks shots, three-point field-goal percentage.
Most recently, he had the opportunity to coach players Sierra Shields and Lateefah Joy.
