Anyone interested in a Head or Assistant Coach position for football or cheer must complete the application found here:  Coach Application
All Head Coaching positions require board approval.  Please submit the completed application to Ryan Gray or Mary Kay Church, as soon as possible, for consideration.


All coaches, assistant coaches and team parents (team trainers if you are lucky enough to have one) require 3 criminal background checks. 

You must complete all three of these steps:
The required background check clearances include:
1.    Criminal History Record Information obtained from the Pennsylvania State Police (every year).
2.    Child Abuse Clearance obtained through the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services certifying the applicant is not named in the statewide database “as the alleged perpetrator in a pending child abuse investigation or as the perpetrator of a founded report or indicated report” of child abuse.” (every 3 years).
3.    Federal Criminal History Record Information obtained by submitting a full set of fingerprints to Cogent Systems for submission to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. ($27.50 fee)** (every 5 years)
 
**Volunteers are not required to complete the FBI clearance (#3) if they have lived continuously in Pennsylvania over the previous 10 years and are working an unpaid position or a volunteer. However, they must swear or affirm in writing that they are not barred from volunteering due to a conviction or offense under §6344. Individuals who reside outside of Pennsylvania may serve as a volunteer for no more than 30 days as long as they provide clearances from their home state or county. Those volunteering longer than 30 days must obtain clearance through the state of Pennsylvania.

TACKLE FOOTBALL COACHES are also required to complete the annual Heads Up training and certification.  Once you type in the organization you should only be charged the special $5.00 Pop Warner rate.

FLAG FOOTBALL COACHES there is an optional, no-cost Heads Up training for flag coaches if you are interested.

CHEER COACHES and CHEER TEAM PARENTS require annual YCADA training and certification. The Cheer Coordinator, Jill Prettyman Demmy will collect all background checks/certifications for the cheer squads ASAP.
