Basketball Program Overview

1st and 2nd Grades*
Practices are 1- 2 times a week for about an hour.  Practice starts around the beginning of November.  The season starts around the first weekend in December. There are usually 8 sessions on Saturday mornings. The season ends around mid February. Our goal is to teach the fundamentals of basketball.

3rd and 4th Grades*

Practices are 1-2 times a week for about an hour. Practice starts around the beginning of November.  The season starts around the first weekend in December. There are usually 8 sessions on Saturday mornings or afternoons. The season ends around mid February. The league is set up to promote fun competition and help develop fundamental basketball skills.

5th and 6th Grades*
There are usually about 3 practices per week for about an hour. Practice starts around the beginning of November.  The season starts around the first weekend in December. The teams play about 8 games on Saturday or Sundays. The season ends around late February. The league is designed to be competitive and fun. We want to stress fundamentals at this level.  Actually OHSAA officials are used during games. 


7th and 8th Grades*
Our teams practice 3-4 times a week and play about 15 games. Girls' basketball practice starts at the end of October. Boys' basketball starts at the beginning of November. The Girls' Season starts at the end of November. The Boys' Season starts at the beginning of December. Playoff are early to mid February.  Our goal is to develop our students for high school basketball along with learning to be dedicated, disciplined, to display good sportsmanship and the benefits of teamwork.  With regards to our schedule, we continue the tradition of catholic school rivalries during the season while filling the rest of our schedule with public school teams.

*Dates and times are subject to change depending on gym availability and league scheduling.

7th/8th Grade Physical Exam Forms

If your child intends on playing 7th or 8th grade school sports, you will need to complete some physical exam forms and return them to your coach or to the school main office.  The paperwork is given to the school nurse. These forms are to be done every year, once a year and are good for one year.

1. A doctor must complete the pre-participation physical evaluation form. The student and parent/guardian must also sign.

2. Please review the concussion information sheet. Again, the student and parent/guardian must sign.
