Q: How much does the program cost?
A: Our 2022 Fall season is $200, with an early registration fee of $150 offered with payment in full through May 31, 2022. Pop Warner Cheer is an exceptional value, especially when you consider the length of the season, and the number of hours our athletes and volunteer coaches commit to the program.
Q: When are practices and how much of a commitment is it?
A: Practices begin on August 1, 2022 and will be held at Barrington High School. Schedules will be set by coaches and times accommodating age groups. Older teams typically practice 2-3X/week for 2 hours, where the younger teams are typically 1-2X/week for shorter hours. Practices are not optional! Cheer is a TEAM sport, and in order to best prepare for the season, we need full team practices.
Q: What does the season look like?
A: BPW is a sideline cheer program as well as a competition program, and all squads will cheer for their respective football team at regular and post-season Football games. The regular season runs from August 1 through late October, with games being held on Saturdays/Sundays beginning at the end of August. The game schedule will be available prior to the start of the season. (Games are NOT required, but recommended).
As we move into September, we will begin to work on competition preparation where the focus is on tumbling, stunting and dance and all other elements for our competition routines. Our teams (MM-Varsity) will compete in the RISMA Cheer competition held in October.
Teams placing 1st and 2nd will advance to the New England Regional competition, which is held during in November. Any
teams advancing past Regionals (placing 1st or 2nd) will have the opportunity to compete at the Pop Warner National Competition in December.
Q: My daughters best friend is the same age - will they be on the same team?
A: Cheerleaders are assigned to squads based on grade, age and experience, at the sole discretion of BPW. Provided below are
the available divisions for cheer- note that it is not guaranteed that all ages will be on the same team.
