Financial commitment
League registration ($275) includes the cost of most items to run the association including: practice field, game day stadium, custodial services, referees, game day uniforms, and insurance.

Players must purchase a helmet, shoulder pads, practice jersey/pants, mouth guard and cleats on their own.  This can run around $200 - $300 depending on individual needs.  If there are financial situations that might make this difficult for your family then please contact us at [email protected] or speak with a coach/board member directly, we do not want a player to miss joining due to that.

The Parent's Role
Competitive football and cheerleading provide many benefits to young athletes such as self-discipline, good sportsmanship, time management skills and physical fitness. Competition allows the players and cheerleaders to experience both success and defeat in a positive environment. Parents, while not participants on their child's team, contribute to the success of both the child and the team. If you would like to coach, please approach the Head Coach or a Board member to inquire if positions are available.  If there is not a coaching position, we can always use help in other areas. Each home game requires volunteers from your team to track the number of plays each player has played, run the down marker, chains, announce, spot, and run the score clock. If you are a leader, become a team mom or spirit mom. Happily volunteer and offer to help your coaches and team mom!

Each Team Needs One Team Parent
Georgetown Pirate parents assist the coaches by volunteering to serve as team or spirit parent. When coaches have important information that needs to be shared with each family in a timely manner, they contact their team parent who will organize an email list to make sure each family is contacted. These parent-volunteers also assist the coaches in weekly communication / events and organizing fun activities and parties. If you are interested in the position of team or spirit parent, fill out a volunteer application, send it in and please let your head coach know! Often times, the head coach does not know every player or parent and has to do the recruiting of the team and spirit parent on his/her own.
