2026 Emerson Softball - Spring League
This is the Emerson Softball Spring League. All girls in Pre-K4 - 8th grade that live in Emerson or go to school in Emerson are eligible to enroll. Emerson Softball is in the Kinderkamack Softball League and travels to those participating towns to play.
Register before February 1st to avoid a $25 late fee.

This program is open to girls in Pre-K4. The season runs during April and May.
It consists of clinic type practices and scrimmages against each other to introduce the game of softball.
The goal of this clinic is to expose our youngest players to the fundamentals of softball in a fun and age-appropriate way.
Girls will be hitting off a tee during games/scrimmages and using a “soft” size 10-inch softball.
There will be 1 practice a week.
All girls will receive a t-shirt.

This program is open to girls in Kindergarten. The season runs during April and May.
It consists of clinic type practices and scrimmages against each other to introduce the game of softball.

There will be 2 practices a week during April. In May, the program will transition to one practice and one game per week fostering teamwork and game experience.

1st and 2nd grade softball

This program is open to girls in 1
st
& 2
nd
grade.
The spring season runs from late-March through mid-June.
This program looks to build upon the fundamentals learned in Tee Ball. Early in the season we will begin by reinforce the fundamentals of the game and learning about proper gameplay.
Girls will be hitting off coach pitch during games/scrimmages and using a soft “RIF” 11-inch softball.
Games/scrimmages are started after the first few sessions with the focus on development and fun -- we do not keep score, kids rotate positions in the field, and we begin to introduce other traditional softball rules.
Games are played against other Emerson teams as well as teams from surrounding towns. Scheduling typically consists of 2 evenings per week including weekends.
Girls will receive a jersey, pants, and socks.
3rd and 4th grade softball

Typical gameplay rules are in place (scorekeeping, field positions, etc.) with some modifications to ensure smooth gameplay. Kid pitching will be introduced from 35 feet in combination with coach pitching at times
Girls will be using a standard 11-inch softball.
Games are played against other Emerson teams as well as teams from surrounding towns.
Scheduling typically consists of 2-3 evenings per week including weekends.
Girls receive a jersey, pants, and socks.
5th and 6th grade softball

7th and 8th grade softball

Typical gameplay rules are in place (scorekeeping, field positions, etc.) with some modifications to ensure smooth gameplay. Kid pitching will be from 43 feet. Rules are closer to high school rules to prepare players for the future.
Girls will be using a standard 12-inch softball.
Games are played against other Emerson teams as well as teams from surrounding towns.
Scheduling typically consists of 2-3 evenings per week including weekends.
Girls will receive a jersey, pants, and socks.
